Honors Thesis: "Colorism in Cambodia: Race, Indigeneity, and the Ambivalence of Pride and Shame" (Sept 2019 – Jun 2023)
Conducted 4 years of library research on Cambodian history and anthropology at Stanford Libraries
In August 2022, recruited interviewees by purposeful homogeneous sampling from the villages in the vicinity of Angkor Wat: namely Nokor Krau, Brasat Bakong, Krong Siem Reap, and Kompong Phluk
Thoroughly interviewed these 26 indigenous Khmer Angkor individuals and families, majority women and children, on their life experiences with colorism for an average of 3 hours each
Practiced highly emotionally attuned, politically sensitive, trustworthy, and psychologically safe interviewee relations
Following data collection, transcribed, selected, and translated interview transcripts and coded selections using NVIVO
Conducted qualitative analysis on interview data
Joined qualitative research data from August – September 2022 and 40 interviews from Coloring Cambodia project with library research and theory to culminate in 350pp dissertation-length Honors Thesis with original sociocultural theory

Intimately interviewed all 40 women (from the U.S., Cambodia, and France) on their experiences with colorism for an average of 1.5 hours each
